This religious building has been protected by Instituto Estadual do Patrimônio Cultural (INEPAC) due to its historical and artistic value. The main purpose of this Master Thesis is to develop an intervention to revitalize the church , not only in the spaces adjacent the called ”capela−mor”, but also around this building, consisted   on two dichotomous   free spaces formed by Avenida Cônego Yasconcelos and Pra#a da Jé. After a detailed study based on the analysis of different bibliographic researches concerned to documents and the analysis ”in loco” of the problems and potentials located in this site, it was possible to develop a consistent proposal considering the user´s needs, specially people with special needs (according to NBR 9050/2015). In 2018 this important building will be 110 years of history and it is fair to contemplate this famous monument with the creation of a place dedicated to its memory, through the implementation of the called ”Memorial da Fé − Monsenhor Mário Nogueira Filho.”
