DIRETRIZES PARA PROJETO DE INTERVENÇÃO URBANA DO CENTRO HISTÓRICO DE MURIAÉ, MG

Trabalho de Conclusão de Mestrado Profisssional

Urban growth changes the dynamics of cities. The lack of planning and rapid growth brings with it problems that directly influence the preservation of pre-existences, in particular, impacts on architectural and landscape cultural heritage. Over a short period of time, the City of Muriaé has been transforming in a very radical way, resulting from the implementation of investments that boosted the economic activities and real estate investments, that end up generating negative impacts on the preservation of the existing heritage. Although this work recognizes the effort of the Muriaé Participatory Master Plan, it also identifies design gaps that deal specifically with the landscape of Muriaé’s historical centrality, understanding the dynamics of existing public free spaces. Thus, through an extensive survey of data synthesized in maps, the proposal is to develop an Urban Intervention Project and Guidelines for Use, Occupation and Preservation for the central area of the City, including its Historical Preservation Zone, with the aim of reinforcing different urban identities.
