Trabalho de Conclusão de Mestrado Profissional
This dissertation discusses the Agronômica neighborhood, located in Florianópolis/SC, addressing the main urban transformations it has undergone and identifying the remaining built, environmental and symbolic heritage and the aspects related to territorial planning and real estate development that have led to socio-spatial segregation and the loss of cultural and socioenvironmental values representative of local identity. Taken as object of study the architectural and landscape ensemble located on Frei Caneca´s Street – made up of two eclectic buildings and a mass of native trees – and the headquarters building of the former União Recreativa e Cultural (U.R.C) 25 de Dezembro. These spaces are currently unused and in an advanced stage of degradation. This problem led to the main objective of this work: to present a proposal for reuse and architectural intervention for the object of study, capable of promoting its rehabilitation and establishing relationships of connection and urban continuity. To this end, the methodology adopted was a bibliographic review of theoretical references that deal with the themes of urban rehabilitation, the reuse of heritage and architectural intervention in sites with heritage value, as well as research into design references, territorial and building analysis (through field visits, architectural surveys, photographic records, damage mapping, cadastral, historical, data and archive research), the preparation of an urban diagnosis and spatial studies. Throughout the work, some challenges were faced, such as difficult access to the intervention sites and the scarcity of technical material to support the project. Even so, it was possible to present a proposal for the implementation of a theme park related to the memory of Fritz Müller at U.R.C 25 de Dezembro, in order to contribute to the reflection on the rehabilitation of the spaces studied and other cases involving architectural design and heritage.
Keywords: environmental and landscape heritage, rehabilitation, reuse, Agronômica.
