Trabalho de Conclusão de Mestrado Profissional em Projeto e Patrimônio
Thinking about safeguarding urban heritage, especially in places where the power of erasure has been structured through urban actions and hygienist policies, is a practice that is increasingly debated in the thinking of contemporary cities, and this dissertation addresses this discussion. The proposal of this work reflects on the emptying of black memory in the Port Zone of Rio de Janeiro and how this fact directly affects the relationship between the individual, space and identity. Furthermore, this discussion materializes in a practical proposal for an urban circuit project, in the understanding of walking as one of the formats of museography in promoting the strengthening of identity in cities. The objective of this project is to create an urban and landscape circuit as a cultural and leisure facility in the city and as an extension of the actions that exist today to safeguard the black cultural heritage of the Port Zone, bringing, above all, the prominence of the cultural perspective of the region.
